Stansted airport expansion will add 35m passengers
Stansted airport's expansion allowing it to carry 35 million passengers a year is to go ahead, leaving those under the flight path facing an extra 63 flights a day.
In his first major decision since becoming Transport Secretary, Geoff Hoon backed the plans for the airport to be given the capacity for 10 million extra passengers a year by 2015.
